Simple Ways to Care for and Treat Your Hair

Taking care of your hair isn’t that complicated. At all. You don’t have to go to the salon and have the most expensive treatment just to have beautiful, healthy, and shiny hair. There are some things that you can do at home to make sure that you treat your hair with respect.

The first thing you need to do is to pay attention to the ends of the hair. Since the ends are mostly getting the ‘worse’ treatment – exposed to pollutants, suffering from split ends, etc – you can tell whether your hair is healthy or not just from looking at them. Give your hair a regular trim; it will prevent any split ends. If you want to apply conditioner, apply them evenly and gently from the roots toward the end. You don’t need to apply anything on your scalp since it produces natural oil all the time – adding conditioner on the scalp will only make your hair look greasy and oily.

If you have straight, fine, and thin hair, and you like to use bobby pins, give them a spray with the hairspray. You don’t need to choose the extra firm pins – they tend to hurt your scalp, right? Just spray the pins with the regular hairspray to give extra gripping power so they don’t easily fall out. Just try it and see how it works for you.

Third, if it is possible, choose silk pillow case instead of the cotton one. Silk does wonderful things to your skin, as well as the hair. You see, cotton ‘steals’ moisture out of the hair, creating the harsher effect. You may not realize this, but it can cause split ends and hair damage – especially if your hair has been damaged. Try switching to satin and silk, and see how they transform your resting time like magic!

Pampering your hair has never hurt, so it is worth massaging the hair while you are in the shower. Light massage can strengthen the hair roots as well as stimulating better hair growth. If you manage to do this regularly, you should see the differences right away! Not only it is good for your hair, it is good for your mood too. It reduces hair pain and headache.

Fifth, invest your money in good quality wide tooth comb. Most people think that all types of brushes or combs are just the same, but they aren’t. If you want to remove tangles from the wet hair, it is better to use wide tooth comb. If you have really stubborn yet prone tangles, you can leave a comb in the bathroom and use it while you are still applying conditioner. Remember, though, that wet hair is very fragile. If you want to comb the hair after the shower, make sure that your hair is half dry, so it is not completely drenched.

You can also brush the hair before washing it. Brushing before washing will make your hair softer, and it reduces the possibility of tangles that can lead to hair loss when you wash the hair.
