General Lighting Function
General lighting is the most basic lighting types. The general lighting can be formed in ceiling fixture light located in the middle of the room to enhance the interior design while lightening. You can also add recessed lighting to increase the light in the entire room.
You need to consider the arrangement of the furniture in the room before deciding the type of general lighting you will apply. For a primary room like a living room, dining room or other types of room, there are a lot of model of ceiling fixtures you can hang in the middle of the room for lighting and diy room decorations.
Just like the general lighting above, the ceiling lighting fixture is not only functioned to give proper light in the living room but also, the model can support the entire decoration in the chamber as well. As determining the pattern or shape, material and the colour of the ceiling light and fixture, you also need to adjust the height.
Task lighting refers to the lamp applied in an individual room to give you more focused light. You can place the lamp on the edge side of the table or next to the chairs. The lamp can be chosen based on the entire decoration in the room.
Lighting for Dining Room
People often apply ceiling light in the dining room. The placement is exactly over the table. Therefore, determining the proper height of the lighting fixture is imperative to do. The height should be sufficient, not too low or too high. The chandelier has to give gentle light to give comfort. Too little placement will block the view of the dining table. The standard height of the ceiling lighting is about 30-inches which are measured from the table top and the bottom side of the pendant or chandelier.
Typically the common height of the ceiling is about 8 feet in height. For such a room, the 30 inches distance between the table top and the bottom side of lighting is the best. But, if the ceiling is up to 9 feet, you need to add the distance to be 33 inches. However, the weight of the ceiling light also should be considered. The heavier lighting should be a little bit higher, approximately 36 inches from the table top. To give the sufficient light all over the room, apply some recessed lights throughout the chamber.
