Under Construction

I spray painted a frame brown, but I also purchased several very modern frames but could not decide on what to hang...I didn't want to put to many frames on the wall. I wanted to keep the walls more simple so I opted for one KING and QUEEN of the castle pictures for "now". I put my sister and nephews to use as they held the pictures up..

I still am working on a paint color...I have a Ralph Lauren that is on the wall now. The pillows are just there until I decide or run into the perfect pillows. I just don't even fool with them anymore. It is what it is... My side table from Z Gallerie should be in next month..

I have decided to stop showing this room for now...I don't want to wear you guys out with this room. So the next time I post pictures of it...hopefully it will be done.

Window What?

Seriously..can we talk...I have no clue what to do with these windows..How to hang panels..If i did 2 per rod wouldn't that look like to much shiznit on the wall? Does anyone have windows like this for reference. Mrs. Limestone I think has a three window look in her living and it looks great, but I think there is a difference somewhere. I am keeping the blinds. They must stay! Other than that..yep clueless..That's why I love the comments, and opinions of all my blog friends. If I could I would fly you all out for a lunch and shop!

Light in Black

I thought I added text..dont know what happened..Anyway..this thing was a monster to put up! My ceilings are very tall, the adapters did not work with this..We had to go to Home Depot and Lowes just to get the right bar for the fixture. Just to much. Urbanoutfitters should really did better. The directions were NOTHING! The whole thing was just tow up from the flow up! But its up and I love it.

Michael Jackson

I have truly been sad over the death of Michael Jackson. I have cried, laughed, danced...thought about the old days..I still remember begging my Aunt to take me to the BAD concert and she did when I was 8 years old. I wanted to marry him...I will miss him and his talent always. You just neve know what a person is going through or dealing with. A broken heart can kill anyone.

I snapped this picture on my way to work Monday. I love this dress, and wanted to document it. The golden roses just gives it a vintage vibe that I just love. I dont have on a lick of mascara or gloss, so excuse the "fresh face"...

Change is Good

I was thinking that its time for a change. My 1 year blog anni is coming up, and how nice would it be to celebrate with a new look. I mean, my blog is mostly about style..so my blog needs a stylish makeover. I started out not knowing a damn thing about blogging to getting my groove, and people actually liking it. The banner that I created was simple, but me. The butterfly of course represents my Granny, and the heels me. Get it girl is not the most original in terms of blog names...But when I was deciding on a name..I thought of my Granny, and one of the last things she said to me on Christmas before she died. We were all in her room, and I had on these 4 inch green suede boots. I was prancing around for her because she loved to see me dress cute...And she shouted out "AWWW GET IT GIRL"...and she turned to my husband and said "......, What are you going to do with her?"...He said "Granny I dont know, probably build a table for her to walk on for me to admire." We all laughed and that was that...But those words stood out to me because it represents girl power if you will. Get it girl, gone girl, haaay girl, go girl, ..it means GIRL YOU ARE DOING YOUR THANG! So to all my GET IT GIRLS that I blog with everyday...hold tight because its time to regetit.... NEW LOOK COMING SOON....

My beautiful Aunt made her way into Ebony magazines JULY/AUGUST issue. The feature is called SEXY SINGLES. She is 59 years old and FABULOUS, OKAY! I am so proud of her, and glad to see her representing my Granny's curves. GO ANEY!

LINEN

I have seen some pretty good samples and I think I want to try the linen texture on one part of the wall only. That would be the wall where the sofa actually sits. The rest would be something different. Has anyone tried this before or have links to share?
I still have not come up with a paint color. I bought two more samples. This time they are RL paint samples and only one is promising. I wont stop until the right color is found. I don't have time to keep repainting if its not right so I want to be 100% sure like I was with the office, our bedroom, and my daughters room.

Happy Friday Hair Cut

Here are some pics! I am happy with the cut, and the look. The older I get, the shorter I go...so what, its hair!

I came right in and took these pictures Thursday night..I never wear the hot pink colored gloss, but thought it would look cute on the blog. I am gonna have fun with this cut curly or straight. I really dont have much left..The sides are loooooow and the back is as well. Now I am considering coloring it.
